Malaysian Nite '11 - Citrawarna

Posted by Aysha Razali at 7:14 PM 0 comments

Now, since the weekend is over, my life is back to normal. Pretty boring too, I can say!

For the past two weeks I have been running back and forth to classes in the morning, be at the gym by afternoon & then by evening - at practice. The most time I can get for myself in between those activities is 60minutes, if im lucky, if I'm not, only half an hour. Since I was enjoying everything I'm doing, all the positive vibes & the people I encounter with..I had a great time of my life!

Malaysian Nite is an annual event here in Kursk where we get to show to the rest of Kursk what Malaysia is all about..
Last year I took a break coz I decided to sit back, relax & enjoy the show. But it didn't happen as leisure as it sounded. I had to become the photographer & videogrpaher for other friends who were performing. *Boring* *Not cool*

So this year, I  participated and since it my LAST one here, I participated in not just one performance, but A FEW. From traditional to modern, from dancing to acting, I said YES to all!! - Im glad I did!!

Here  are few pics of the night..

The Starshii Kursk Shufflers

It's our final year over here, so we just wanted to carve a wonderful memory on our last Malaysian Nite in Kursk.

Personally, I had a very wonderful time myself before the event started - from picking up steps to rehearsing to deciding on what to wear, and then when the event was going on - being on stage for the last time, rushing like a road runner changing outfits  (Thanxx to Bestie T a.k.a my personal assistant, you did an awesome job!) and after the event - chilling with everyone & snapping pics. Owh, I nearly forgot, I got free food which was prepared for the VIPs *teehee*. What a marvelous  day!

MY Games '11 - Hockey

Posted by Aysha Razali at 12:22 AM 0 comments

Never in my entire life, I held a hockey stick, let's not even talk about playing hockey!
This year was the first time ever, MY Games were organizing hockey match for females. So based on the motto " que sera sera", I straight away agreed when Bestie S asked me to be in her team sans questions.

We are unpredictable.

Our team was registered as UNPREDICTABLE.
And as you can guess, we did live up to our names.
We lost our 1st match, as one our goals was cancelled due to some misunderstanding about the D-line. Then we really played our game and at the end, we confirmed a ticket to the finals - which we won eventually.

I played the last man in nearly all matches a.k.a the goal-keeper. Pheewww, I never knew that it was so tough, very muscle challenging. At one point my team was attacking on the opposite side for quite some time, so I just squatted and watch, but suddenly when the opponent stole the ball from us I quickly prepared into position - I swear I could hear cracks from my bones. Definitely have to start drinking Anlene everyday now!

You see my face?? I'm struggling so I wont fall flat, I dont need a sore bum, thank you!

I love my team-mates when they bring the ball to the other side. I can just chill and cheer!

I really enjoyed the whole tournament, not because we won gold but the team was among a bunch of happy people to be around. Of course, the victory added the sweetness into it. Owh, another thing was Bestie S was nominated as the BEST PLAYER of the tournament. Way to go! She really deserves the title. She managed the team well and brought us to win the gold medal.

To Cuzzie, With Love.

Posted by Aysha Razali at 10:23 PM 0 comments

HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY TO MY ADORABLE CUZZIE - IZZMA HANIS.
Wish you the very best & sending all my prayers to you for your PMR.
I know that you are a hardworking young lady and just for the record, I'm already proud of you for that fact.
Just keep up being consistent and never lose faith.
I really wish I could be there to make sure you are doing well, but I think you already are doing more than just 'well', with/without me doesn't make any difference. Ahha.

I still can't believe how fast you grew up - I still remember things when u were a day old, 3 years old, 5...then u turned 7, after that 10...and now you are already 15!!!! Time just bolts, right?

All in all, I hope that everything goes your way, and even if it doesn't, you'll be able to see the beautiful reason behind it. Don't worry you will grow up a strong woman. After all, we are the Matzin's, remember?!

Sending you all the love in the world.

Luv,
Kak Ngah.

Back to Business 2.0

Posted by Aysha Razali at 12:05 AM 0 comments

Kelab UMNO Kursk held a Pasar Malam event, for us young wannabe entrepreneurs to do business and for the rest of the students to fill their tummies with Malaysian delicacies. Better than that, to make you at least feel at home.

Me, Bestie S & Bestie D, straight away agreed to it, as we always love cooking & doing business together. We put Bestie S' signature dish as usual, but we doubled the amount from last time coz the last time we did a sale like this, her cake was gone in seconds and we felt bad that we can't give it to everyone coz its limited.

Being more innovative,we changed our menu from ghee rice to mee curry to save our time and spend it more on baking cupcakes.

So, there we were, selling of...

8 Choconanas
20 Choconanas cupcakes + 20 vanilla cupcakes
60 bowls of mee curry

AND

All of 'em were sold out in 60mins! Pheww..
Alhamdulillah, a great sale ;-)

Since we were the 1st to "tutup kedai", we were just goofing around.

And boy, after that only we felt hungry for the long stretching day, so staring at the last 3 pieces of cupcakes, none of us could resist it!! So we decided "Naaahhh, no need to be so greedy, let's not sell them, our own tummy is more precious than money". Aren't they?

My Last MY Games - Badminton & Handball

Posted by Aysha Razali at 5:54 PM 0 comments
KSMU Malaysian Games, or better known as MY Games 2011 kicked off on 4th November starting with badminton doubles and handball tournament.

Realizing that this is my final year here, I registered my name for all sports. Kidding you not, ALL - regardless of whether I know how to play or not. Its the second matter. Or maybe it just doesn't matter at all. I dont mind if I make myself look like a fool while playing, as long as I'm having fun. A very good example would be badminton doubles. My partner was my own roomie, Bestie P. Both of us haven't got our hands on the badminton racquet for quite some time (in my case its 13 years ago) but still we don't mind looking like noobs in the badminton court. And yes, we did look so. Imagine, we picked up the rules during the match itself! How embarrassing is that, huh? Like doing a chicken dance in the middle of the street. *Not cool*

Our 1st opponent won over us with just one eye opened. Our second opponent were very good (they were the 2nd runner-up), so newbies like us definitely cant trash them, but hey, never underestimate us, we did give 'em a fight thou!
Before our 3rd match Bestie P thought of something : I'll be in front and she'll be at the back, both of us will handle our own territory. Guess what...we WON the match!! Omg, why didn't we think of something like this earlier???? Even thou we won that match but we weren't qualified to go to the next round. Badminton was never our thing, but we decided to attend their regular training sessions weekly - coz now we got the feel for the game already, thou its too late to win it!

Like I said, I don't mind as long as I'm having fun!
Counting our "Last(s)" - My (First) and Last Badminton & Handball MY games

Right after badminton was our handball match. All the 6th yearers teamed up as one against 3 teams of juniors. Boy, I really need to keep up my old regime running 10km & stick to a healthy diet, or else there's no way Grandma Aysha can play back to back like this. I felt a bit deviated, sluggish and of course old. Really having so much energy, these juniors!
team Starshii Kursk

However, we still won the game. Starshii Kursk made it! Maybe it was because we are used to play together, hence, the chemistry & communication were brilliant. Or maybe the juniors are doing us a favor(?) If that's the case, then they are the sweetest juniors I could ever have!

We came back with a pack of nasi lemak to gobble and a set of body aches everywhere!

I also had to bake a carrot cake for Iftar the next day. So after dinner I started baking. I did one earlier on Tuesday, it was easy peasy. Just this time, after so much of using my right arm, grating 2 carrots took me forever. Guess I'm really turning into Grandma Aysha after all. Sigh.

This Time For Africa!

Posted by Aysha Razali at 1:27 AM 0 comments
I've been looking forward to Nigerian Nite '11 for two things:

1) Their emcees are always amusing and can really rock the house. No matter what circumstances occur, they always manage to pull the crowd together. This year the favorite line for the night was "Gimme A Wiper" (wiper = waving your hands like you do in a concert. Apparently, they call it 'wiper')

2) I always love their performances. What more to say - hiphop, locking poppin'..its been running in their blood since the day they were born. Trust me,they've been doing lockin' & poppin' the moment they started walking.

And tonight was the night I anticipated for so long..

These army boys were amusing!

The Joker and The Mad crew

Our very own MJ. His name is John and ironically he looks like Sean John!

One from Cape Verde

These ghosts are creepy, they came to the audiences to scare us, but they were harmless ;)

Eventhough there was a minor glitch, but they manage to cover it up and I think everyone did a great job for the event.

Actually, I was late today!! I missed out several performances, however, still was happy that at least I didn't miss out the whole thing. I even came back with those Nigerian balloons!
