My Last MY Games - Badminton & Handball

Posted by Aysha Razali at 5:54 PM
KSMU Malaysian Games, or better known as MY Games 2011 kicked off on 4th November starting with badminton doubles and handball tournament.

Realizing that this is my final year here, I registered my name for all sports. Kidding you not, ALL - regardless of whether I know how to play or not. Its the second matter. Or maybe it just doesn't matter at all. I dont mind if I make myself look like a fool while playing, as long as I'm having fun. A very good example would be badminton doubles. My partner was my own roomie, Bestie P. Both of us haven't got our hands on the badminton racquet for quite some time (in my case its 13 years ago) but still we don't mind looking like noobs in the badminton court. And yes, we did look so. Imagine, we picked up the rules during the match itself! How embarrassing is that, huh? Like doing a chicken dance in the middle of the street. *Not cool*

Our 1st opponent won over us with just one eye opened. Our second opponent were very good (they were the 2nd runner-up), so newbies like us definitely cant trash them, but hey, never underestimate us, we did give 'em a fight thou!
Before our 3rd match Bestie P thought of something : I'll be in front and she'll be at the back, both of us will handle our own territory. Guess what...we WON the match!! Omg, why didn't we think of something like this earlier???? Even thou we won that match but we weren't qualified to go to the next round. Badminton was never our thing, but we decided to attend their regular training sessions weekly - coz now we got the feel for the game already, thou its too late to win it!

Like I said, I don't mind as long as I'm having fun!
Counting our "Last(s)" - My (First) and Last Badminton & Handball MY games

Right after badminton was our handball match. All the 6th yearers teamed up as one against 3 teams of juniors. Boy, I really need to keep up my old regime running 10km & stick to a healthy diet, or else there's no way Grandma Aysha can play back to back like this. I felt a bit deviated, sluggish and of course old. Really having so much energy, these juniors!
team Starshii Kursk

However, we still won the game. Starshii Kursk made it! Maybe it was because we are used to play together, hence, the chemistry & communication were brilliant. Or maybe the juniors are doing us a favor(?) If that's the case, then they are the sweetest juniors I could ever have!

We came back with a pack of nasi lemak to gobble and a set of body aches everywhere!

I also had to bake a carrot cake for Iftar the next day. So after dinner I started baking. I did one earlier on Tuesday, it was easy peasy. Just this time, after so much of using my right arm, grating 2 carrots took me forever. Guess I'm really turning into Grandma Aysha after all. Sigh.
