27th Anniversary - Bring the numbers on!

Posted by Aysha Razali at 9:17 PM

23rd September 2011 marks my parents' 27th anniversary. It kinda freaks me out knowing the fact that people actually CAN live with each other for that long...hello, that's like 27,000 years in relationship calendar howkay??!!

However my parents did it, and of course I'm glad they did, coz they are the only living source I have to put my faith in believing that relationships CAN last for long & two people CAN be together, not just in fairy tales.

The living proof. They are my pillars of strength.

I have no idea what they've gone through their early years of marriage, but as soon as I could understand things, I knew they're secret was they love each other more each day as if everyday was their 1st day together. Honestly, I do experience the I-wanna-puke-now moments too, but no joke, it is essential to love your other half no less than you did today - the key to a long lasting marriage. I now strongly believe in that, hey, I've seen it!!

Their 238th honeymoon, as they always feel like they are newly-weds.

They are both each others solid rock, stood strong for each other in all sorts of condition. Mom took a part-time job babysitting kids while my dad was completing his PhD to get extra $$$ (read: lessen Dad's burden),so that, Dad can use his scholarship money for what was important that time (studies, thesis, bills, car, rent, our school, food etc) without having to put aside a budget for me & my sister - the two kids who didn't understand the situation at the moment and was demanding stuffs like every other kid does. Mom worked so hard, babysitting 6-8 kids alone (excluding us), that not even she can provide all the things for me & sister, we even got enough extra money to travel across America!!(we even went further a bit to Canada, Thanks to superb-mom.Yay~!). When we were back in Malaysia, Dad became our babysitter whenever Mom was busy marking STPM papers , coz he knows how much it means to my Mom to get such experience so she can excel in her job, being a great teacher. And, of course she did.

Together could never be any better.

They both have survived so many things together, no distance is far enough to come in between them, and I'm 500% sure that there's nothing that can stop love from flowing between both of them besides Allah's will.

They even survived the Great Wall of China!

As a proud daughter of theirs, I'm sending a prayer from afar that they will both be showered by His blessings continuously, poured with unconditional love between them and live happily as they always are, ever after.

Blissful couple - this picture can totally relate!

Your wedding might be 27 years ago, but the celebration continues till today! Here's to a lifetime of happiness growing old together - come what may.

The proud 27 year old couple. It's my sister's car but the plate number has a significance to their marriage.
Whoever is clever, please break it down if you could .

Here are the proudest peeps in the world for this 27-year old marriage.
